Do statins prevent dementia?

Statins should not be used as a prophylaxis against dementia, as the only indication. The limited evidence from high quality randomised trials suggests no effect.

Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) protect against the development of ulcers seen on endoscopy, in patients taking longer-term NSAIDs. Little data exists on clinical outcomes.
